Triad congressman Ted Budd has joined a U.S. House member from Ohio in urging the revocation of a recent trade ruling that went against an ATM maker with a Greensboro plant.

The Republican congressman from Advance and U.S. Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio) went to bat Wednesday for Diebold-Nixdorf and its local plant that employs about 150 people.

In their letter, Budd and Turner asked U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to overturn a recent decision by the International Trade Commission that found Diebold had infringed on a Korean competitor’s patented ATM technology.

In addition to its plant on Pleasant Ridge Road, Diebold is headquartered in Canton, Ohio, and has a number of other domestic facilities.
