Washington, D.C. -- Today, Rep. Ted Budd (NC-13) received the Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes Members of Congress, “who have demonstrated the leadership critical to advancing policies that support America’s free enterprise system.”

Rep. Budd said in a statement:

“It is a true honor to be among the first Members of Congress to receive this award. Ensuring that America’s economic recovery from COVID-19 is swift and long-lasting will require our leaders to recommit to the principles of economic freedom and free enterprise that fueled the most prosperous economy in a generation. I look forward to continuing that work on behalf of our country and the state of North Carolina.”

U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Suzanne Clark said:

“Now more than ever, our nation needs elected leaders with the courage to pursue common ground and bold, bipartisan solutions to America’s greatest challenges. These awards honor the deserving members of Congress that are forging common-sense sense solutions, working across the aisle, to enact lasting and meaningful reforms. In the days ahead, Congress must work together and support our nation's free enterprise principles that will help bring our economy back to strength and put our people back to work.”
