Washington, D.C. -- Rep. Ted Budd (NC-13) released the following statement of support for the third economic relief package to confront the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic:
“Job creators and their workers are the engine of our country, and they are being devastated by the pandemic’s economic fallout. After all the partisan stunts from the other side, I’m proud to say that this relief package provides a much-needed financial lifeline. This bill is not perfect, but it will help slow the economic bleeding.”
“I particularly support the following provisions:
Hundreds of billions of dollars in small business loans.
Advance payments for paid leave credits, allowing those dollars to be available for businesses in weeks, instead of months.
Expanded resources to hospitals, doctors, and front-line providers.
An increase in access to telehealth services.
An increase in deductions for charitable donations.
Allowing Health Savings Accounts to be used to purchase over the counter medicines.
An increase in Medicare reimbursement for hospitals who treat patients with COVID-19, incentivizing them to prioritize treating at-risk patients.
Providing legal protections for doctors during the crisis.
