Washington, D.C. -- Today, Representative Ted Budd (R-NC), along with a bipartisan group of Representatives and Senators, sent a letter to the House and Senate Budget Committees asking them to direct the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), "to begin including debt servicing costs in all legislative cost estimates."
Rep. Budd said in a statement: "America’s national debt is a staggering $23 trillion and rising. Because CBO is often used as the sole budgetary scorekeeper, it is critical that they be required to report the true costs associated with our country's skyrocketing debt. This commonsense move would begin to shine a light on the massive financial burden that Washington is placing on the next generation of Americans." Read a copy of the letter HERE. |
