WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Representative Ted Budd (R-NC) released the following statement following the passage of House Resolution 759 to honor Reverend Billy Graham:

“Today I was joined by many of my North Carolina colleagues in passing a resolution honoring the legacy of Billy Graham for his lifelong commitment to preaching the Gospel, his fight for civil rights, his opposition to communism, and the spiritual guidance that he provided to millions.

Billy Graham reached 215 million people in 185 countries by some estimates. His simple message of forgiveness based on John 3:16 has no doubt earned him many crowns in heaven, and he will surely be missed.

With his funeral being tomorrow, it is fitting that the House adjourned as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Billy Graham.”
