I applaud Congress’ passage of the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act. This will be the 56th year this legislation has been signed into law. The bill will allow our military to begin necessary rebuilding by increasing the size of different service branches as well as modernizing strategies and weapons. Perhaps most importantly, the troops will get a substantial pay raise, the largest in eight years.

Washington, DC -- US Representative Ted Budd (R-NC) released the following statement following the House passage of  the Fiscal Year 2018 (FY18) National Defense Authorization Act conference report:

“I applaud Congress’ passage of the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act. This will be the 56th year this legislation has been signed into law. The bill will allow our military to begin necessary rebuilding by increasing the size of different service branches as well as modernizing strategies and weapons.  Perhaps most importantly, the troops will get a substantial pay raise, the largest in eight years.

I’m was heartened to see these important reforms in the bill, and look forward to it heading into law.”
