Rep. Ted Budd Sponsors American Energy Independence from Russia Act
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Ted Budd has sponsored H.R. 6858, the American Energy Independence from Russia Act. The bill would restart drilling for gas on federal lands and waters, resume construction on the Keystone XL Pipeline, and greenlight American natural gas exports.
The legislation was originally introduced by Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers (R-WA).
Rep. Budd said in a statement:
“American energy independence is critical to ensuring our own national security and the security of our allies around the world. International thugs like Vladimir Putin cannot be allowed to use Russia’s energy resources to fuel an unjust war. To ensure Americans have access to the most affordable and reliable energy, we must pursue an all of the above approach that leverages all of our nation’s resources.”
