Washington, D.C. – Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) has co-sponsored H.R. 6299, the Protecting Our Democracy by Prevention Foreign Citizens From Voting Act. The bill would prohibit federal funds from going to states or local governments that allow non-U.S. citizens to vote. The bill was originally introduced by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC). Rep. Budd said in a statement: “The right to vote is a unique responsibility that should be reserved for full U.S. citizens. Sen. Rubio and Rep. Duncan’s bill would go a long way to ensure integrity in our elections.” |
